Kumusta, welcome to Barangay Hoops. I am Jerome Villanueva, I coach kids in Cebu, and this is the show about basketball the way we actually live it here, on a half court between two houses with the sound of a tricycle going past. Today I take you to a court in Mandaue that has sent three players to the pros. The man who runs it is Coach Boy Dizon. He has one ball, one whistle, and a notebook with the name of every child who has played there since 1994. We talk about how the court was built, how the fiesta tournament pays for the nets, and who the three were. Then, for the coaches listening, a plan for your first practice with twelve kids and nothing in the bag. You are listening on Witspeak Podcasts. Let us ball.
