Bonjour, and welcome to Blank Page Tuesdays. I am Lea Marchetti, an illustrator in Lyon, and this show is about the part of creative work nobody photographs: turning up. My first guest is Aurelien Fabre, who has written three novels between 5.30 and 6.45 in the morning before his shifts as a hospital pharmacist in Marseille. I did not ask him about inspiration. I asked him to describe one real week, day by day, including the two days where nothing happened. He kept a wordcount notebook for eleven years and he brought it. We talk about ending a chapter badly on purpose so tomorrow has somewhere to begin, and why the time you stop matters more than the time you start. Then I will tell you about my own morning drawing.
