Welcome back to First Movement, I am Lena Hartwig. Last time we had a whole orchestra. This week there are only four people in the room, and no conductor, and it is one of my favourite things in all of music: the string quartet. I will introduce you to the four instruments, including the one I played, and we will listen to a piece you have probably never heard, because I want you to meet it fresh. You will hear a tune travel from the top instrument to the bottom one, you will hear the four of them agree, and then you will hear them argue, and I will tell you why that argument is the point.
