This is Pit Wall Radio, I am Rashid Al Mazrouei with Emily Hartigan. Today we go behind the garage door on the one night nobody talks about. Saturday. Qualifying is done, the car is sealed under parc fermé, and yet the hardest work of the weekend is just starting. My guest is Sophie Marchetti, a race engineer who has done this at more than a hundred Grands Prix. She explains what can still be changed on a locked car, how the strategy plan is built from Friday long runs, what a driver debrief really sounds like, and why the beautiful plan on the wall is usually abandoned by lap ten. I will add what the tyre engineers are doing at the same time, which is mostly worrying. You are listening on Witspeak Podcasts. Lights out soon.
