Thirty days before the song

A comeback looks spontaneous to a fan and is anything but. A former agency planner joins Farah to walk through a 30-day schedule from the first teaser to the first music show win, hour by hour.

  • Why the first teaser drops at exactly that time
  • Concept photos, trailers and the order they are released in
  • The album pre-order window and how it feeds the charts
  • Music show week and what a win actually requires
  • Where fans fit into the schedule, deliberately

A blank version of the 30-day template is in the notes for anyone planning a release.

Transcript
Hello and welcome to Trainee to Stadium, I am Farah Nadhirah, and this is the K-pop industry explained from the inside, calmly, with no gossip. Today we are going to look at a comeback schedule, the thirty days between a group announcing a new song and that song winning a music show. To a fan it feels like a wave of surprises. To the people planning it, it is a spreadsheet with every hour accounted for. My guest used to build those spreadsheets for an agency in Seoul, and she is going to walk us through a real one, day by day: why the teaser drops at midnight, when the pre-orders open, and where the fans are placed in the plan on purpose. You are listening on Witspeak Podcasts.
