About the show

The 3am Dad Club is a fortnightly show for new and expecting fathers, hosted by Hafiz Rahman, a paediatric nurse in Kuala Lumpur who became a father for the first time in 2024 and discovered that his training had not prepared him for the feelings. Each 35-minute episode is a conversation between Hafiz and one other dad about a single part of the first year: the birth from the father's side of the room, the first night home, feeding and the feeling of being useless, returning to work after two weeks, the drop in sleep and the drop in patience, the wife or partner who seems a different person, the loneliness nobody mentions. Guests are ordinary men from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and beyond, not experts, and every few episodes a midwife or psychologist answers the questions that came up. The show is for men who want to be present and have no map. It is frank, often funny and never judgemental.
