Who Mentioned Christmas In October

It is October. Aoife's mother has already asked who is doing the turkey. Ciara's office has a Secret Santa spreadsheet with conditional formatting. The two of them need to process this.

  • The family phone call that started as a hello and ended as a seating plan
  • Ciara's HR department and the Secret Santa budget wars
  • Worst Commute of the Week: a bus that turned around halfway to Ballincollig
  • Your Week, Our Problem: a listener accidentally joined a choir
  • The dishes tally, now at three to one, which Aoife says is suspicious

If your family has also started this early, send us a voice note and we will suffer together.

Transcript
Evening, welcome back to Grand, So: The Week, I am Aoife Brennan, and Ciara is here with a face on her because someone in my family said the word Christmas in the second week of October and she has to hear about it. My mother rang to say hello and within four minutes we had a seating plan and a dispute about the turkey. Meanwhile Ciara's office has launched a Secret Santa spreadsheet with colour coding and a budget clause, and she has thoughts, mainly about the clause. We have the worst commute of the week, involving a bus that simply gave up, and a listener who joined a choir by accident and is now in a concert. Kettle is on, the dishes tally is tense.
