The Bouncy Castle Went Down With Eleven On Board

Wanjiru recounts a birthday party where the bouncy castle lost power with eleven children inside, the rescue operation led by a grandmother, and the class WhatsApp group's reaction.

About the show

The School Run Chronicles is a weekly parenting comedy from Wanjiru Kamau, a Nairobi mother of three who records every episode in the car park after drop off, because it is the only quiet twenty minutes she gets. Each episode is a solo monologue about one specific parenting event of the week: the birthday party where the bouncy castle deflated with eleven children inside, the WhatsApp class group that has 212 messages about a missing lunchbox, the day her son announced at church that daddy snores like a matatu. Listeners send their own stories as voice notes and Wanjiru reads the best ones with full commentary. Episodes run 25 to 30 minutes and come out every Friday morning. It is for parents who need to hear that someone else's week was also chaos, for aunties and uncles who babysit under protest, and for anyone who has ever hidden in a car park to eat a samosa in peace.
