The Week After You Fail

Adaeze and Tunde each failed a course and had to tell their families. They compare what the first week felt like and what actually helped them sit the resit.

About the show

Library at Eleven is a weekly two-host chat for university and college students in the long middle of a degree, when the excitement has worn off and the deadline is still weeks away. Adaeze Nwachukwu, a final-year pharmacy student in Lagos, and her friend Tunde Bakare, who is repeating a year of engineering at Ibadan, talk honestly about study sessions that go nowhere, group projects with absent members, failing a course and telling your parents, and the strange guilt of resting. Episodes are about 30 minutes and always end with one concrete thing to try before the next week: a timetable method, a way to start an essay you have avoided for days, a script for asking a lecturer for help. The hosts are students, not experts, and they say so. If you are listening in a library at eleven at night, you are the audience.
