The small adjustment

The first episode starts with Daniel's own story. In 2014 a manager asked him to adjust a delivery count on an invoice, a small change that would have passed unnoticed. He says what he did, what it cost, and why he does not tell the story as a hero.

  • Why small dishonesty is where most of us are actually tested
  • Proverbs 11 and 16 on false weights, read in plain terms
  • Guest Abena Owusu, an accountant, on how to refuse without losing the job
  • When it is right to leave, and when leaving is just running

A prayer for the Monday shift closes the episode. Send your own workplace situation through the show page.

Transcript
Good morning and welcome to Monday Morning Faith. My name is Daniel Mensah Boateng. I manage a warehouse in Tema during the week and I preach some Sundays in Accra, and for years the hardest part of my faith was not Sunday, it was Monday at about ten o'clock. This show is about that gap. Today I begin with my own story, because I do not want to ask anyone else to be honest before I am. In 2014 a manager asked me to change one number on an invoice. One number. Nobody would have noticed. I will tell you what I did, what it cost me, and why I do not tell this as a story where I am the hero. Then we read Proverbs together, and an accountant called Abena explains how to say no and keep your job. You are listening on Witspeak Podcasts.
