Your Google Ads account is leaking, here is where

A Leeds plumber spends 900 pounds a month on Google Ads and gets maybe four calls. Callum opens the account on air and finds the leaks one by one, from broad match keywords to a landing page with no phone number above the fold.

  • Search terms report: the 40 percent of spend going to boiler jobs he does not do
  • Negative keywords, the most boring money you will ever save
  • Why the ad ran at 3am for three months
  • A landing page that hides the phone number
  • What 900 pounds should buy a plumber in Leeds

Right, hello, I am Callum Pryce and this is Nobody Clicked the Banner, the show where we look at small business marketing and work out where the money is actually going. Today we have a plumber in Leeds, a lovely bloke, who spends nine hundred pounds a month on Google Ads and gets about four phone calls for it. He thinks Google is a scam. Google is not a scam, but his account has more leaks than the houses he fixes. We are going to open it up together, and I will show you the search terms report, which is where I found that nearly half his budget went to people searching for boiler installations he does not do. Then negative keywords, ad scheduling, and a landing page that hides the phone number. Stay with me, this is going to save someone a fortune. You are listening on Witspeak Podcasts.
